What can I do to Keep Invasive Species Out?
Horseback riding — and horse camping — are becoming increasingly popular ways for people to explore the beautiful Adirondack region.
There are miles of horseback riding trails for all ages and abilities. By following these three simple, steps you can do your part to protect your Adirondacks for generations of riders to come:
- Stay on designated trails to avoid picking up seeds you don't want to spread;
- Be sure to thoroughly clean your horse and gear of mud and debris after each trip;
- Remember to bring weed-free forage such as grains, not hay, for your horse’s meals when visiting the Adirondack Park.
